MY DIY: Fall Gathered Side Seam Dress + McCalls 7833 Pattern Review

Happy Sunday Lovelies!

Blue Gathered Side Seam Knit Dress (I made)
Fabric: Fabric Mart & Pattern: McCalls 7833
Justfab Fringe Boots (2 seasons ago)
How are you all doing? Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. I am just stopping by to share my 1st fall DIY outfit. I made this dress last Saturday when I went home for the weekend. It's my version of McCalls 7833 for the Sewyourview monthly sewalong.
The pattern is a knit dress with side seam gathers with ribbons or elastic. I used this yummy double knit fabric I got on sale from Fabric Mart. The fabric is a more structure knit fabric which I love working with and the weight is perfect for the fall/winter season. I made a size 14 of view C of the pattern with the long sleeves from view B. I didn't do any modifications and it fits perfectly but I had to tack down the facings down all around as it would not stay in place.
This side seam detail is definitely my favorite part of this dress, it really adds an edgy/cool factor to the dress.
I styled the dress with a pair of fringe booties to add to the cool fall vibe of the dress. This dress is not something I would usually gravitate to since it a bit too fitted for my personal style. I must admit tho it shows how much I worked really hard since last August to finally achieve my weight loss goal. I promise I will have a post up soon on how I adapted a healthier lifestyle and lost almost 40lbs in the past year, stay tuned!
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!
