How are you all doing? I hope you are having a wonderful week so far. Today, I am sharing a new DIY summer dress I made some weeks back. I mixed 2 different printed fabrics to create this fun and vibrant dress and I absolutely love the outcome. I wore it to Thanksgiving service at church and then to a friend's surprise birthday party in the evening. I just kept the styling simple by pairing it with bold colored sandals and bold lips to match. For those that sew, I have a sewing pattern review for the dress below...:)
Pattern Review: Vogue V9078
Pattern Description: Lined dress has princess seams, close-fitting bodice, raised waist, flounce hem and back zipper.
Pattern Sizing: It came in size (6-14) with cup sizes (A,B,C,D). I cut a size 12 with cup size D and it fits perfectly.
Fabric Used: I mixed 2 different fabrics from the latest Vlisco Voila for You Collection.
Did it look like the photo on the pattern envelope once you are done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, super easy.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love that it came in different cup sizes for the bodice to get the perfect customized fit. I also love the you can mix and match fabrics to create different options of the dress.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made? I didn't make a lining as per the instructions of the pattern, I just finished the neckline with a bias tape. I also finished the hem with horsehair braid to add more volume to the flounce.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and Yes!
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a bless day!
