How are you all doing? I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I sure in between sewing a ton of skirts. Last weekend, I attended my sewsister, Yetunde of Sewurbane's traditional and church wedding. Both were such beautiful ceremonies and it was such an honor to witness her and her new hubby tie the knot, wishing them all the best in this new phase of their lives. On to my outfit, I wanted to make both of my outfits but due to limited time, I only made what I wore to the traditional wedding. The color called for the ceremony was pink which was absolutely perfect since I had this beautiful guipure lace fabric that my mom got for me from Nigeria last year in my fabric stash. I made a peplum top and a matching maxi skirt using a satin taffeta fabric. My head-tie (know as "aso-oke") was courtesy of my mom but I tied it myself after watch some youtube videos. I love the way the outfit turned out (even though it kinda fits a bit big) and I styled the monochromatic look with some silver iridescent accessories. What do you guys think of this DIY wedding guest look? Stay tuned for what I wore for the church ceremony/reception in the next post...:)
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed day!

  1. You are doing very well with the sewing. Keep it going. That outfit is classy and the nail art brought in some personality. Well done!
