How are you all doing? I hope you all had a restful weekend. I spent most of my weekend preparing for an important interview (will share the deets later). Today's post features one of my latest DIY piece: a wool vest. I personally believe that a vest (sleeveless coat) is such a versatile piece that you can easily transition from season to season. I decided to make one because I did not have any in my closet. I absolutely love the result of the vest from the leopard lining to the cute black and gold buttons. For this look, I paired the vest with a black and white striped turtleneck with a black leather skirt and completed the look with a pair of black classic pumps.
What do guys think of my DIY wool vest?
PS: For those that sew, I have a pattern review below...:)
Pattern Review: Vogue 9065
Pattern Description: Lined vest has collar, self-lined upper front, side pockets and topstitching.
Pattern Sizing: It came in a size 8-16 and I cut a size 14.
Did it look like the photo on the pattern envelope once you are done sewing with it? Yes, somewhat but mine is in a longer length.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes the instructions were super easy to follow.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love that there are different lengths variations. There is nothing I disliked about this patterns.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made? Nothing much but I did add a topstitching detail to the collar.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I doubt I will make it again but I will recommend it if you want a simple vest to make.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!
