My DIY: Burgundy Peplum Top + McCalls 7508 Pattern Review

Happy Sunday Lovelies!

Peplum Peter Pan Collar Top (I made)
Fabric: similar HERE & Pattern: HERE
Ankle Tapered Pants (old, I made last year)
ASOS Plastic Wide Belt (super old)
Steve Madden Burgundy Pumps (old)
Colourpop "Saturday" Ultra Matte Lipstick
How are you all doing? I am doing good, just super busy with school. Today's post features a DIY outfit I made and wore for my brother's graduation ceremony this past December. I made the self-drafted pants last year (see post HERE) and I used the fabric remnants to make a new peplum top. I love anything burgundy especially in the Fall/Winter season, so I went with a monochrome theme in the styling by completing the look with a pair of burgundy colored pumps. Off to get some studying done, so talk to you all later...:)
P.S: For those that sew, I have a pattern review below for the top.
Pattern Review: McCalls 7508 view A
Pattern Description: Close-fitting tops have princess seams, peplum, and collar and sleeve variations.
Pattern Sizing: It came in size 6-14 and I cut a size 14 with Cup D.
Fabric Used: Cotton Sateen Fabric from Joann's (similar HERE)
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, super easy
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the collar, sleeve and bodice variations the pattern has to offer.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made? I shorten the bodice by about 2 inches to accommodate my short torso and I also lengthen the sleeves by about 2 inches. I finished the peplum hem with a 1inch horsehair braid to add some volume to it.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?  Yes I would definitely recommend it, but I am not sure I will make it again. I still have a lot of top patterns in my stash that I wanna try.

Here are some pictures from the ceremoney
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed week ahead!
