How are you all doing? I hope you are having a wonderful weekend,.Today's post features a head-to-toe look that I recently made. I decided to joined the McCalls Spring Sew Along for M7547 and I made this floral print high waisted pair of pants for it. A pair of bold printed pants is a must to transition into the Spring/Summer season. I found this yummy fabric during a random search on eBay and I love the bold prints and colors. I paired the pants with a blouse that I also made. Any blouse that has a bow tie is my favorite blouse to wear any day and any time. I really like the bold pairing of the blouse with the pants, it screams spring/summer which is exactly the look I was going for. I wore this to church last Sunday and then wore the pants again during the week to class with a black shirt. When I make pieces, I try at all times to make clothes that are versatile and can be styled differently for several occasions. I only have a couple days left for the semester to be over, Woot! Woot!! So looking forward to going home to my sewing machine, I have so many sewing plans for the summer. Be on the look for more DIY looks this coming months.
P.S. For those that sew, I have a pattern review for this pants below...:)
Pattern Review: McCalls 7547
Pattern Description: Close-fitting jeans and overalls have faux fly front, lapped zipper side opening, patch pocket and leg variations.
Pattern Sizing: It came in a size 14-22 and I cut a size 16
Fabric Used: It is a floral print stretch twill I randomly found on eBay
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, super easy.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I love that it's high waisted, the belt loops and the fact that it has a side zipper instead of a front fly zipper is a winner for me. Plus it has other options for creating an overall or wide leg pants.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made? None, I just wished that I had cut it in a size smaller because it fits a bit big on me.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes & Yes! I am definitely going to make this again in a size smaller, love that the high waist tapered fit helps to elongate my petite frame.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!
These are adorable! I love this high waist and that is why I bought the pattern. I basted mine together and have to cut it down two sizes! And I Cut based on my measurements. I seem to struggle with McCalls sizing.
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous! The color just pops and is perfect for spring!
ReplyDeleteThe colors tho! Totally something I would wear, I love the whole look dear!
