How are you all doing? I hope you are having a great week so far. I am gonna jump straight into today's post. Summer is about 2 weeks away but I am already sewing up pretty dresses to last me all summer long! My favorite garments to make are definitely dresses, I live for spring/summer so I can make as many pretty dresses as I Today's post featuring a bold colored simple dress that I incorporated one of the biggest trends of the summer: Patch Appliques & Embroideries.  I got a couple of patch appliques off of eBay that I will be playing with in my upcoming DIYs. I love how this trend instantly add a fun element to any simple item. I styled the dress by pairing with another bold colored item: a pair of red fringe sandals. In the meantime, I have already worn this dress more than 3 times since I made, don't you just love pieces that are so versatile and can be worn to several occasions? I know I sure do. Stay tuned for more fun summer dresses in upcoming posts.
P.S: For those that sew, I have a pattern review for this dresses below...:)
Pattern Review: McCalls 6465
Pattern Description: Loose-fitting, pullover dresses have French darts and round neckline.
Pattern Sizing: It came in a size 8-16 and I cut a size 14.
Fabric Used: I used a yellow denim fabric from my stash, I think I got it from Joann's about 2 years ago.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Super easy, I barely used the instructions but I glanced through it,
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the A-line style of the dress, it's very flattering for all shapes and sizes. Also, it's really quick to make, it only took me about 2-3 hours to make it.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made? The only design change I made was to add the patch appliques to the upper left side to add a fun element to the dress. I got the appliques from eBay, they are iron-on ones but I still topstitched it down to make sure they don't come off during washes. You can find different appliques here: HERE and HERE.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and Yes! I actually already made it again in a floral print fabric that I will share soon on the blog. I plan on making more as the pattern has become a TNT pattern for me. I would definitely recommend it if you want a simple fun spring/summer dress.

Thank you so much for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your week!
