Cheers to the Weekend Lovelies!

How are you all doing? I am doing great, I actually just finished my 1st  exam of the semester. I am so looking forward to cooking and catching up on some unfinished sewing projects this weekend. Today's post features a self-drafted dress I made a couple of weeks ago. One of my sewing goals that I am constantly working towards is the ability to be able to make pieces that I completely self-drafted. Don't get me wrong I still love my sewing patterns and will continue to use them but I would also love to be able to making any item I want without depending on sewing patterns for cutting the fabrics. This is one of my takes on a self drafted piece, I definitely still have to work on some fit issues but I know I am up to a good start with the result of this attempt. Wiggle Dress are absolutely my favorite dress styles to wear, there is just something about the classic silhouette that I adore. I used a floral print stretch cotton fabric I got from Mood Fabrics to make it and added a bell sleeves to the sleeves. Looking forward to making more pieces that I drafted myself. I wore it to church by pairing it with a pair of metallic caged sandals. I am literally obsessed with this caged sandals, this is like my 4th or 5th color of the same style plus the fact that they are super comfy is a winner in my books...:)
