Hello Everyone, How are you all doing? I know I know I have been a bad blogger. I cannot believe I took such a long hiatus from blogging since the last time I posted in January. Life has just been hectic on my end and I pretty much lost all the motivation to blog due to my stressful school schedule. Also I have been thinking of rebranding my blog and giving the website a facelift. Hopefully it will be done in the next coming weeks, I believe that will motivate me to blog more often.
In other news, I am literally towards the end of my didactic part of pharmacy school. I cannot believe that in about 2 months I will be a PharmD candidate and will be starting my full year of rotations before graduating next year. I just need to focus and get through the next 8 weeks. It feels like yesterday that I was doing my white coat ceremony and now 2 years in its almost time to start applying everything I have been taught in class in a practical, real life setting during my APPE rotations. I hope you all can understand why I have been absent on the blog, school has just been kicking my butt a bit...lol. I know by the grace of God I will push through and finally finish this degree.
Anyways, today's post features this DIY dress I made back in January. It's the famous pattern knit dress pattern that has been a TNT for every sewing blogger. I actually made this about 2 years ago, see post HERE. For this version, I also made it in a scuba double knit. I cut a size 14 but I could have gotten away with a size 12 based on how loose this one fit. This is definitely a fall/winter essential dress especially if you make it in a heavyweight knit like I did. It is a dress that is versatile and can be styled for different occasions. For a monochrome look, I paired the dress with a pair of cobalt blue pumps and completed the look with a plaid trench coat that was from an Olivia Pope inspired collection from The Limited store about 4 years ago.
Even though, the weather doesn't feel like it here in the DMV area, it's the last days of winter. I am so looking forward to Spring/Summer especially since I get to sew up some bold and bright colored pieces. Stay tuned for my DIY pieces this coming season.
Thank you so much for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  1. So proud of you dear. I still remember our conversation about starting pharmacy school. And now you're close to finishing up. You're going to do great. I love that coat on you too :)

    Best,
