How are you all doing? I am doing great, currently enjoying a weekend off school at home. Now that the weather finally got the memo that it's spring, I am in the midst of planning my spring/summer sewing projects. Today's post features a midi dress I made back in March.
I used a scuba knit fabric from the Nicole Miller for Joann's collection. The fabric collection was one of the best Joann's Fabric Store had, but they sadly discontinued it but I am glad I was able to get some of them in my fabric stash. I made a midi dress using a pattern from an indie pattern company. It's the Wiggle Dress Pattern from Patterns for Pirates.
When it comes to pattern, I usually stick to the big 4 pattern companies but I have been loving the small pattern companies lately. I heard a lot of great reviews about this pattern, so I had to try it out. I cut a size medium based on my measurements and it fits me perfectly with no adjustments. The only thing I don't like is the boatneck neckline, I will definitely modify it the next time I make it. The cool thing about this pattern is the fact that it has a lot of variations in lengths and styles, you can make a maxi version, off shoulder neckline etc. You definitely get your money's worth plus the fit is awesome.
How fun are the buttons detail on the heels of this pumps?
I wore this dress to church by styling it with an old Zara blazer I snagged on sale about 4 years ago. I completed the look with a pair of fun pumps with buttons details from Katy Perry Collections.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.
