Happy Saturday Lovelies
Mixed Prints Midi Dress (I made)
Fabric: Vlisco & Pattern: Vogue 9293
H&M Gold Pumps (old)
How are you all doing? I am doing great, given that I just finished my 1st week of my 1st APPE rotation. It still feels weird that I am not stressing over upcoming assessments/exams but I am so glad I am finally putting in practice what I have been learning in class this past 2 years. My week was so busy that I am so happy we have a long 3-day weekend. My only plans for the week is to spend time with my sewing machine and get some summer sewing done...:)
Today's post features a DIY dress I made back in March for SNPhA's cultural day in school. I love playing with prints and bold especially during the spring/summer season. So I decided to mix this 2 fabrics from my stash, I got it about 4 years ago from Voila for You by Vlisco Collection that is sadly discontinued.
I used Vogue 9293 to make the dress. I cut out a size 14 and made it without any modifications. It fits everywhere but a bit tight at the bust area, I am noticing that issue a lot in my recent DIY pieces. I am going to start doing full bust adjustments (FBA) to my bodice patterns to address this issue. I should have been doing it but I was totally dreading the modification process. I have been doing a lot research and watching Youtube videos to learn it.
Other than the bust issue, I love the overall fit of the dress. I simply styled it with a pair of gold sandals.
Peep the matching of the prints at the side seams, it irks me when I see clothes especially ready to wear pieces that the prints in the seams are mismatched...lol
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!
Love your outfit!!! The colors are so vibrant!
ReplyDeleteOh wow - just found your blog since I'm about to make Vogue 9293 in (boring) stripes not unlike the ones on the pattern envelope. I *love* your version, and am inspired to try it in a print combo if this version works out. Am curious about the mobility of the sleeves and whether they are comfortable or not. Thanks for sharing your version!
ReplyDeleteHello! The sleeves are actually very comfortable. Thank you for the leaving a comment...;) Hopefully your version turns out great
