My DIY Dress Series #2: The Bold Colored Sheath Dress + Simplicity 8292 Pattern

Happy Sunday Lovelies!

Bold Colored Sheath Dress (I made)
Pattern: Simplicity 8292
Shoemint "Kaylen" Pumps (old)
Colourpop "Yoshi" Ultra Matte Lipstick
How are you all doing? I am doing alright, currently in a sewing frenzy to finish up the last 2 dresses I have left for my upcoming vacation. I thought I would stop by and share the 2nd DIY dress in my dress series. Last year, I made Simplicity 8292 in a pink suiting fabric HERE and it become one of my favorite dresses till date. When that pink version became too big for me to wear, I knew I had to make a smaller one to fit my new size.
For this version, I made it a lemon yellow dressweight crepe that has some lycra stretch from Fashion Fabrics Club. I cut a size 12 and it fits perfect. The only adjustment I made was to shorten it by joining the petite lines included on the patten. I also self-lined the bodice using the same fabric.

I styled the dress by pairing it with a bold colored pink pumps for a colorblock effect. I wore it church and then to a graduation party afterwards. The yellow color, sheath style and flutter sleeves makes this dress another favorite in my closet. Stay tuned for more DIY dresses as I gradually rebuild my dress collection...:)

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed week!
