How are you all doing? I feel like summer is moving so fast, yet I have still have so much DIY pieces to share with you all. A couple of weeks ago, we threw a Royal Tea Party themed bridal shower for a close friend of mine who is actually getting married this weekend. The dress code was bold dresses, pearls and fascinators. I made this mint dress and got a fascinator to match on eBay.
I got 3 meters of this cotton blend twill fabric in Waui Market, Shenyang and it was the perfect fabric to create this look. I made McCalls 7783 with some modifications. I used view D and added 11 inches to the peplum part to turn it into a full circle skirt. I cut a size 14 which turned out to be a bit big at the waist but nothing a nice belt couldn't fix. I really like the juxtaposition of the flutter sleeves with the full circle skirt. The midweight of the fabric also adds a nice drape to it.
I went for a monochromatic look in styling the dress by pairing it with a mint beaded necklace, clear perspex belt, clear sandals and a bold red lips.
I love this pattern so much that I am already making the bodice of view C into a fun pencil dress, looking forward to sharing it with you...:)
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed week.
