How are you all doing? I hope you are having a wonderful new year so far. I have pretty much been studying, eating Christmas leftovers and binge watching shows on Netflix whenever I get the chance. I am also still in the process of setting my goals for the year. 2019 is definitely gonna be a big year for me cos not only am I finally graduating from pharmacy school in a couple of months, I am also looking forward to ending the education chapter of my life and finally starting a career. I have so much that I want to achieve this year including sticking to my healthy lifestyle, maintaining my weight, settling on a skincare routine and even making a trip back to the motherland. All in all I am so excited about the new year 2019. I also want to use the opportunity to appreciate you for all the love and support, I truly appreciate that you take the time to visit this little web space of mine. Cheers to the year 2019 and I wish you all a prosperous one filled with lots of blessing, joy, peace, laughter and good health!
Today's post features the red dress I made for Christmas. I did not really have that much time to sew so I settled on this simple knit McCalls 7429 I had previously made 2 years ago HERE. I previously made it in a metallic silver scuba fabric, this time around I made it in a lurex blend red fabric I found on sale at Joann's. It has gold shimmers all over it that you can't tell from the photos.
I made a size 12 with no modifications and used this Brittany J Jones youtube video to construct the twist front portion. I followed the pattern instructions for the rest of the sewing process and it fits perfect. It's a pretty quick make once you figure out the twist front. I am actually thinking of making it black since I really love the pattern...:)
For styling, I simply paired the dress with a pair of brown nude pumps and bold red lips.
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed weekend!
